Our story

Amuri means love.

love for food, family, and fire

Amuri was born long before it had a name...

Our story begins in two different places, far apart on the map but deeply connected by food. Antonio grew up in Sicily, surrounded by tradition, family tables, and the unmistakable soul of Italian cuisine. Alejandra was raised in Mexico, where bold flavors, warmth, and hospitality are a way of life.

Individually, we each found our way into the hospitality industry, learning, growing, and dreaming, with one shared goal quietly taking shape: to one day open our own restaurant.

Years later, life brought us together in an unexpected place. From that moment on, everything changed. What started as a shared passion became a shared life and the rest is history.

Together, we moved to California, carrying our cultures, experiences, and dreams with us. Side by side, we worked toward something bigger than either of us had imagined alone. That dream became Amuri.

Amuri means love in Sicilian. It represents family, tradition, passion, and the joy of gathering around the table.

Amuri is a reflection of our journey. Built on tradition, fired by passion, and shared like family.

Welcome to Amuri

...A love Learned by hand

I didn’t learn to cook in a restaurant. I learned it at home, where flour covered the table and hands never stood still. There were no instructions, only watching and repeating. No words, only time. Bread. Dough. Pizza. Movements carried forward, not written down. Amuri begins here... in the hands, before anything had a name.

The story continues…

From Sicily to Southern California...

...Same hands, a new horizon.

I came to California carrying my traditions with me. The flavors I grew up with. The gestures learned by watching. The patience of time, and of fire. Here, the place is different — but the roots are the same. Close your eyes, taste, and let the senses travel. This is not just a dish, or a catering. It’s an immersion. A journey shaped by Italian soul, lived through a California light. Nothing forced. Nothing excessive. Just food made the way it’s meant to be.

More than just food. An experience.

Amuri is about moments. Private gatherings. Celebrations.
Simple tables that turn into memories.

Whether it’s a pop-up, a private event, or catering, our goal is always the same:
to bring people together through honest food and shared time.

Giving Back to Our Community

Amuri is more than a kitchen. It is a responsibility. We believe a restaurant should nourish more than just people. It should also contribute, in meaningful and measurable ways, to the communities and environments that sustain it. We have contributed to the planting and verification of 200 trees in post-wildfire areas of Oregon in partnership with Veritree. This initiative supports restoration efforts led by experienced forestry teams and contributes to rebuilding ecosystems affected by wildfire. This is an initial step in a long-term commitment. Over time, we aim to continue supporting verified restoration projects and explore local initiatives in Orange County and San Diego County, where Amuri operates. We share this not as a claim of perfection, but as a reflection of our intention to operate with awareness and accountability.

Amuri means love.

And love is something you protect, nurture, and grow.

One table at a time.

One event at a time.

One tree at a time.

This is just the beginning.
